Back From Hong Kong

I am back from Hong Kong and ALIVE despite the crowds and whining kids! :) There are so many things to write about!! So I would take several postings to write about all our happenings in HK. Since I am also asked quite often what to do/shop/eat, I would I would blog about it!
Here is my itinery:
Day 1 - Fly off to HK
Day 2 - Walk about Tsim Sha Tsui
Day 3 - Ocean Park/HK island
Day 4 - Disneyland
Day 5 - General Shopping (Hong Kong Island/Causeway Bay)
Day 6 - General Shopping (Sha Tin/Langham Place)
Day 7 - Home

So to begin with, lets talk about FOOD!
We took it easy and left the hotel around 10.30am every morning. We usually had brunch rather than breakfast and ate at the "cha chan teng" near my hotel in Mongkok. It was cheap and good. The portions were large so the whole family could have shared...ONE portion! :) One of favourite places is Cafe De Coral ( you can find them ANYWHERE. Prices are reasonable ( about HK 29-33 which is about S$5-6).

We also ate at Yung Kee (the famous roast goose & wonderful century eggs) BUT it is rather pricey! We spend about S$100 just for lunch!!! Not worth it at all..cos I understand that there are other places such as Gau Kee which has equally good goose and century eggs..oh well. I had the address, but couldn't really find it cos the tourists maps are not so detailed. I will include the address here later.

The best find for me was this place called QQrice. It is brown rice wrapped with some mince meat. I LOVED it! I was happy to find that they have one shop in Singapore ( at Plaza Singpura) as well. You can find it at most of the MTR stations in the central districts. Fast & convenient. One of the other places which was really good was Maxim Place for Yum Cha. Think of it as the old May Flower in Singapore BUT 2x as big. You still get the ladies coming to your table on the tim sum trolleys :) We went to the one at Sha Tin, but you can find branches of it in quite a few places (including Grand Century Plaza at Mongkok East Station).

So much for this posting...will write more about it later!
Have a blessed Christmas!!
